Ash Wednesday Gathering: 6:30pm, Wednesday, February 22, at VPC. The early church set aside a time of preparation before Easter. They called this the Season of Lent. Christians take time deeper about their faith, and strengthen their commitment to follow Jesus. Lent ends on Easter morning (April 8). Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent. Ashes are used to remind us who we are and what Jesus did for us on the cross. Come worship and mark the beginning of Lent by attending the Ash Wednesday gathering this week.
